This tool does not account for public holidays, so a project timeline that needs to exclude specific holidays will need manual adjustment.
Worked example: take Monday, September 28, 2026 to Friday, October 9, 2026. Counting both dates, that is 12 calendar days. Two full Monday-to-Friday weeks fall inside the range, giving 10 business days, and the one weekend (October 3 and 4) adds 2 weekend days. So 12 = 10 + 2.
Subtracting Holidays by Hand
Because this tool does not know which holidays apply to you, adjust the answer yourself. Take the business days it reports and subtract any public or company holidays that fall on a Monday through Friday inside your range. If your range includes two such holidays and the tool reports 10 business days, your working-day count is 8. Holidays that fall on a weekend are already excluded, so do not subtract them twice.
Where Business Day Counts Come From
Many everyday deadlines are written in business days rather than calendar days. Shipping estimates, bank transfers, document processing times, notice periods, and project schedules often work this way, because offices and carriers are not running on weekends. A “5 business day” delivery placed on a Thursday usually arrives the following Thursday, not the following Tuesday. Counting the days first helps you set realistic expectations and plan around them.
